The Party for the Animals is not only active in parliament, but also beyond.
For example, our scientific bureau has produced the important documentary Meat the Truth, which explores the impact of livestock keeping on global warming. At present, they are working hard to distribute this film both nationally and internationally.
Our party leader, Marianne Thieme, wrote the book The Animals’ Century, about her personal motivations and her vision on our interactions with animals. An English translation of this book will appear on the international market in the course of 2008.
In addition, our youth organisation PINK! also tries to raise awareness of animal welfare problems among young people by, for example, holding demonstrations against meat from animals, which have not be stunned, being served at universities.
The Party for the Animals also regularly takes recourse to legal action. For example, it institutes legal action when governmental bodies flout animal welfare regulations.
